The army extended, Wednesday, its control over Al-Dinder City in Sennar State, southeast of Sudan, after fierce battles with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
On Friday, the army, supported by the armed movements, elements of the peoples resistance, and the General Intelligence Service, began fighting battles with the Rapid Support Forces on the outskirts of Al-Dinder in the context of the largest military operation it has carried out since September 26.
Military sources said, “The army was able to retake the city of Al-Dinder from the Rapid Support Forces through military force.”
They pointed out that the army and its allies extended their control over Al-Dinder, after violent battles in which heavy weapons, cannons, and suicide drones were used under air cover from warplanes.
The Rapid Support Forces had taken control of Al-Dinder in early July after battles with the joint force affiliated with the armed movements allied with the army, and then formed a local government from the city’s residents.
The Rapid Support Forces committed widespread violations against the residents of Al-Dinder and its nearly 200 villages, including killing, displacement and looting.
