Terrorist attack on a power station in Sudan with 7 drones

The anti-aircraft guns of the (18) Infantry Division of Kosti confronted on Wednesday morning seven suicide drones that were on their way to target Om Dabakir thermal power plant.

The media office of the (18) Infantry Division of Kosti said, in a statement obtained by (Sudanese Echoes), “With full vigilance to secure all the boundaries of the responsibility of the (18) Infantry Division and even the air borders, the anti-aircraft guns of the division confronted suicide drones that numbered about seven drones in several directions, not including the division’s command, which suggests the hypothesis that they were passing through the city of Kosti with the aim of targeting other sites in Rabak.

The (18) Division pointed out that, according to information, the attack began at 12 midnight and continued in batches until about 4 am, when no sounds of the anti-aircraft guns were heard, adding, “Information indicates that the drones were primarily targeting Um Dabakir thermal power plant, where about four drones were shot down before reaching the target.

Infantry Division (18) added in its statement, “It is noteworthy that the attack coincided with similar attacks on Merowe Dam, Dongola Station, and the transformer station in Al-Shuwak area, which led to a power outage for more than a day in four states, including White Nile.”
