“Sweeping Deluge” … Sudanese Army Crushes Militia Defenses in Largest Military Operation
The Sudanese Army and the Joint Forces of the armed struggle movements achieved strategic field victories on Saturday morning in a wide-scale military operation described as a “sweeping deluge,” spanning the states of North and South Kordofan and extending to axes in the Blue Nile region, amid a major collapse in the defenses of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
The General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced, in an official statement on Saturday, the implementation of what of large and successful military operations in the North Kordofan axis, resulting in the clearing of strategic areas and the destruction of the capabilities of the “Dagalo militia.”
The official spokesperson for the Armed Forces explained that army units, supported by backing forces, continued their field operations steadily, with extensive sweeping campaigns covering the areas of Kazgail, Shawaya, Al-Hamadi, and Al-Dibeibat. The statement confirmed that the forces succeeded in tightening their control over and securing these areas following fierce clashes.
According to the statement issued by the spokesperson’s office, the Armed Forces inflicted heavy losses on the rebel militia in both personnel and equipment, including the destruction of a large number of combat vehicles and military hardware. The army indicated a state of collapse and disarray among militia elements, who fled their positions under the pressure of successive strikes by the Armed Forces.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their firm commitment to carrying out their national and constitutional duty, stressing the continuation of military operations without interruption until “all parts of the country are cleansed of the militia and its affiliates.”
The General Command concluded its statement by paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured, and the safe return of prisoners and missing persons, stressing that victory is near thanks to the steadfastness and valor of the Armed Forces and the Sudanese people.
Meanwhile, field sources told “Al-Onwan 24” that the Armed Forces regained full control over a series of vital areas, including Kazgail, Shoshai, Um Dereisaya, Fares, and Al-Hamadi, reaching the strategic area of Al-Dibeibat. This advance came after a sweeping attack launched from seven simultaneous axes, relying on intense aerial bombardment that destroyed the militia’s forward fortifications and disrupted its supply lines between North and South Kordofan.
The intensive ground operations resulted in the complete elimination of the combat groups (111, 13, 145, and 117) affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces militia. A large number of combat vehicles and military equipment were also seized, along with widespread cases of capture among militia ranks, which retreated under the strikes of the joint forces and the army.
