Sudan’s Warplanes Bomb and Ruin Janjaweed Government Headquarters in Nyala

Sudan’s warplanes bombarded Nyala and militia positions in the city with a barrage of missiles, at the same time as they targeted the headquarters of the South Darfur State Government Secretariat.

The militia is about to announce the formation of the Janjaweed government from Nyala, which was chosen as the capital of the Ta’asis “Establishment” coalition, the political arm of the Janjaweed militia.

Eyewitnesses reported plumes of smoke rising from the headquarters and several militia positions in Nyala.

Last week, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Head of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Gebriel Ibrahim, announced that Nyala was not safe for the declaration of the Janjaweed government, stressing that the government’s hand would reach the Janjaweed anywhere in Sudan.
