Sudan’s Prime Minister Holds Consultative Meeting with Political Parties to Launch National Recovery Project

 

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has affirmed that the country is not only waging a war against rebel militias on the ground, but also against hate speech and destructive rumors. He called on political forces to embrace the national recovery project and combat hate speech.

 

 

The Prime Minister held a consultative meeting in the Cabinet Hall in Port Sudan today with national political forces to discuss the current political situation in the country and the parties’ vision for managing the transitional period and its requirements.

 

 

Participating in the meeting were the Democratic Alliance for Social Justice, the National Movement Forces, the Coordination of the Return to the Founding Platform, the Sudan Justice Alliance (Nine), the Popular Congress, the National Unionist Party, the Democratic Unionist Party Supreme Leadership Body, the National Line Alliance, the Civil Gathering, the Supreme Council of Beja Nazirs, the Sudanese Women’s Gathering, and national figures. The Speakers affirmed their support for the armed forces and the supporting forces in the War of Dignity, stating that they support dialogue and achieving peace in accordance with the aspirations of the Sudanese people to end the rebellion and defeat the aggressive militias.

 

They expressed their parties’ support for the Prime Minister and their readiness to support the transitional period’s programs to achieve stability and development for the country. They called for avoiding dependence on external influence and embracing local (Sudanese-Sudanese) dialogue, which excludes no one, as a means of achieving national solutions.

 

 

The participants called on the Prime Minister to maintain an equal distance from all political and social components and the national ranks, and to work to ensure the independence of executive decisions from partisan or regional polarization.

 

The meeting emphasized the need for continued consultation and coordination in order to build the state of law and institutions that the people aspire to.
