Sudans demands Security Council to take urgent and decisive action against the UAE

The Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations in Geneva, Hassan Hamid, called for urgent and decisive action against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which continues to supply the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia with weapons.

The Sudan UN Permanent Representative said, addressing a meeting of the International Organization for Migration Council, that the UAE’s involvement is documented by reports from UN experts, stressing that the delay in classifying the RSF militia as a terrorist group only means giving it more green light to continue committing unprecedented atrocities, as happened in Eastern Al-Gezira, in Al-Hilaliya and the surrounding villages.

The representative expressed concern about the increasing number of Sudanese who have resorted to smugglers due to the difficulty of obtaining regular immigration opportunities.
