Sudanese Ministry Health: 19,000 infection cases and 566 deaths of cholera epidemic in the country


The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced that the cases of cholera epidemic exceeded the barrier of 19,000 cases, including 566 deaths.

A statement issued by the Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Health stated that “190 new cases of cholera were recorded, in addition to two deaths in three states: Kassala, River Nile, and Al-Gadaref.”

The statement added that “the total number of infections reached 19,411 cases, including 566 deaths, distributed over 64 localities in 11 Sudanese states.”

For its part, the Ministry of Health in River Nile State revealed a significant increase in cholera cases, reaching 4,561, including 101 deaths, while the ministry’s statement confirmed the registration of 37 new cases of cholera today, raising the cumulative number to 4,561 cases, including 101 deaths, pointing out that 69 patients are still receiving treatment in isolation centers, and 4,391 people have recovered.
