Sudanese Families Rescued in Libyan Desert Depth
The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency (AIM), Tripoli branch rescued Sudanese families stranded in the desert depth on the Libyan-Sudanese border.
The AIM said, in a statement, that the rescue operation was carried out after receiving information that a number of women and children were stranded without transportation, in difficult weather conditions for three consecutive days.
It confirmed that the operation was carried out in coordination between the agency’s head and the head of the Kufra branch. Specialized search and rescue teams were dispatched and were able to locate and rescue the families.
The statement pointed out that the rescued group included women and children from Sudan suffering from malnutrition. Field rescue teams provided urgent healthcare and necessary humanitarian services.
