Sudanese banks raise the level of readiness to (100%) for currency replacement
The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS), Barai Siddiq, intensified his meetings with bank managers to discuss the final arrangements for replacing the currency to ensure the success of the process.
CBoS governor explained, in a circular, that the currency will be replaced by depositing in bank accounts of the 1000- and 500-pound denominations, giving directives to raise the level of readiness in the banking sector at the level of 100% through a category of measures that included opening closed branches, increasing working hours and service windows, in addition to enhancing human and logistical equipment and raising the level of security in coordination with the security committees in the states.
CBoS governor said that replacing the currency is an important opportunity for the banking sector to recover from the effects of the war and reinforce confidence in the national currency.
