Sudanese Army Says Weapons Will Not Be Stored Until “RSF and SPLM-N (Tokar)” Are Defeated

Commander of the Fourth Infantry Division of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Major General Ismail Al-Tayib Hussein, said the army will not return its weapons to storage until it has eliminated the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), Tokar faction.

Speaking in Ed Damazin during a reception for mobilized fighters at the military garrison, Al-Tayib said the armed forces would not “hold anyone accountable for the actions of others,” adding that those who “destroyed livelihoods and violated lives and property” have no place among civilians.

He added, “We welcome anyone who lays down their arms,” echoing statements previously made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces.

Al-Tayib further stated that the army will not store its weapons until it has defeated the RSF, the SPLM-N (Tokar faction), and forces led by Joseph Toka, adding that “the battle is now nearing its end.”

He concluded: “If we do not eliminate these forces, we will not stop until Sudan returns whole and restored as it once was.”
