Sudanese Army Repels RSF Attack on Al-Dalang from Three Axes
The Sudanese Armed Forces repelled a fierce attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) on the city of Al-Dalang in South Kordofan state early Sunday.
Military sources told Altra Sudan that the assault was carried out along three axes from the north, west, and east of the city, but the army and its supporting forces succeeded in repelling it.
The sources added that the attacking forces suffered losses in personnel and equipment, and that combat vehicles and motorcycles belonging to the attacking groups were seized. They confirmed that the army is conducting a wide sweeping operation around the city.
They noted that the intelligence unit of the 54th Al-Dalang Brigade had previously detected mobilizations by the RSF militia and SPLA-N around the city from multiple directions, and that the army was on high alert for any anticipated attacks.
According to the sources, the attackers aimed to prevent the armed forces from advancing westward in the state.
Pro-army platforms and the General Intelligence Service released videos documenting the moment the attack on Al-Dalang was repelled on Sunday morning.
