Sudanese Army Prepares in South Kordofan and Enters Tabasa

Sudanese field sources reported the movement of Sudanese army forces in Al-Damra area of Al-Abbasia Taggali Locality in South Kordofan. The sources stated on Sunday that the army entered the Tabasa area after clashes with Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) forces and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias.

Earlier in the morning, the Sudanese army carried out artillery strikes targeting SPLM-N positions in preparation for advancing in the eastern mountains’ region, where movement forces operate in some areas and pose a threat to army positions.

Intense Clashes

This comes amid a sudden escalation of fighting in South Kordofan over the past days, with the SPLM-N and RSF militias launching two waves of attacks on the Kortala garrison. The army, seeking to lift the siege on Kadugli and Dilling, repelled the attacks.

The army intensified its artillery and air strikes on the SPLM-N positions, which accused the army of shelling civilian areas under its control, resulting in 45 deaths and additional injuries.

In West Kordofan, the militia renewed attacks around the 22nd Division in Babanousa, continuing to fire heavy artillery shells at army defensive positions near its main headquarters. The army successfully repelled yesterday’s violent attack on the 22nd Division, aiming to maintain it as its last stronghold in West Kordofan.

Meanwhile, in North Kordofan, the militia deployed reinforcements to the Abu Gaoud area to strengthen defensive positions in anticipation of army attacks, following a series of operations in recent weeks that inflicted losses on militia forces across North Kordofan fronts.
