Sudanese Army Intercepts Drones Targeting Portsudan’s Largest Naval Base

The Sudanese army said its anti-aircraft defense systems intercepted drones targeting the country’s largest naval base in Portsudan on Wednesday.

A Sudanese army spokesman said: “The anti-aircraft defense systems successfully confronted drones that were attempting to attack the Flamingo Naval Base in Portsudan and shot down most of them.”

Explosions were heard in the city, but it was not immediately clear whether they were near the base.

Portsudan has been subjected to attacks for days, including drone strikes by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that set fire to the country’s largest fuel depot and damaged the main gateway for humanitarian aid.
