Sudanese army heavy artillery shells militia gatherings in Bahri

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has been shelling Rapid Support Forces (RSF) gatherings in central Khartoum Bahri with heavy artillery since the early hours of Saturday morning from its positions in northern Omdurman.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported hearing the sounds of clashes and explosions in the Shambat suburb of central Khartoum Bahri.

SAF has been able to reach Shambat for weeks, while the militia is still holding on to dominant positions in the area.
The army is trying to advance from northern Khartoum Bahri to the Signal Corps headquarters in the far south of the city, and then lift the siege on the SAF General Command headquarters in central Khartoum.

In River Nile State, local sources told Al-Jazeera that ground defenses shot down RSF drones that attempted to attack the army’s Al-Maaqil camp near the city of Shendi.
