Sudan Urges Russia to Expedite Implementation of Joint Project Roadmap

Sudan on Monday urged Russia to accelerate the implementation of the “roadmap” for proposed joint projects aimed at supporting reconstruction efforts in the sectors of transport, industry, infrastructure, energy, oil, and agriculture.
During a meeting with Sudan’s Ministers of Finance and Energy, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak affirmed that relations between the two countries have witnessed significant progress in recent times. He also highlighted the convergence of views between Moscow and Khartoum on regional and international political issues, noting the close coordination and mutual support between the two nations in international forums.
For his part, Sudanese Minister of Finance Gebreil Ibrahim expressed appreciation for Russia’s supportive stance, which he said has contributed to preserving Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reaffirmed Sudan’s aspiration to build strategic relations with Russia across all fields.
Ibrahim praised the outcomes of the Joint Ministerial Committee, which developed a roadmap to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries. He added that consistent follow-up and implementation of the proposed projects could make a significant contribution to reconstruction efforts—particularly in industry, transport, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture.
The minister underscored that Sudan places great importance on Russian investments, noting that they are based on fair mutual benefit and serve the interests of both peoples.
