Sudan Unveils Emergency Plan for Nationals in Tehran, Beirut and Ankara
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Tuesday announced that it has begun making the necessary arrangements to organize the evacuation of Sudanese nationals from the Islamic Republic of Iran, amid rapidly unfolding developments across the Middle East.
In a press statement issued by the Office of the Official Spokesperson, the Ministry affirmed that it is closely monitoring the repercussions of the current situation and its impact on Sudanese citizens residing in affected countries. It noted that Sudan’s embassies in Tehran, Beirut and Ankara, in addition to the Consulate General in Istanbul, are on high alert to follow up on the conditions of nationals and provide them with the necessary support.
The statement clarified that these efforts are being undertaken in full coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) to ensure a swift response and to guarantee the protection of citizens. The Ministry further stressed that the evacuation plan from Iran will be implemented in accordance with ongoing assessments of field developments, in a manner that safeguards the safety of all concerned.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urged all Sudanese nationals in those countries to strictly adhere to the directives issued by Sudanese diplomatic missions and to maintain continuous communication through official channels in order to receive the necessary guidance for their protection.
