Sudan Thanks the U.S. and Mobilizes the People for War
An emergency session of the National Security and Defense Council was held in Khartoum, chaired by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, with full council membership, to discuss the state of affairs in the country.
The council praised the Sudanese people for their sacrifices, mourned the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, and affirmed the state’s support for the families of the martyrs, detainees, and missing persons.
The council reviewed the necessary arrangements to prevent a repeat of El-Fashir tragedy and examined the political, military, and security situation across the country.
It highlighted the unprecedented violations committed by the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia against unarmed civilians, condemned by the international community, and denounced the failure of international institutions to compel the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to comply with UN resolutions prohibiting the arming of Darfur and lifting the siege of El-Fashir.
The council also discussed the humanitarian situation and security threats, operational readiness, and initiatives presented by some international parties, while welcoming sincere efforts aimed at ending the suffering of Sudanese citizens caused by the rebellion of Al-Dagalo militia. It expressed gratitude to the United States government and to Massad Boulos, advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, for their appreciated efforts regarding the crisis.
The council called for continued mobilization and vigilance to eliminate the rebellious militia and their mercenaries.
It also reviewed the Sudanese government’s vision for facilitating humanitarian aid, supporting relief efforts, restoring security and stability across Sudan, and tasked a committee with implementing and monitoring these measures.
