Sudan Possesses Vast Reserves of Gold, Copper, and Iron

 

Khartoum, Sept. 28, 2025 (SUNA) – The General Directorate of Geological Research has announced that Sudan holds vast mineral wealth, including gold, copper, and iron, in addition to rare minerals that form the backbone of clean energy industries and modern batteries.

 

 

The Chairman of the Directorate, Sheikh Mohamed Abdelrahman, affirmed that the global trend toward investment in strategic minerals places Sudan in a competitive position and provides it with an opportunity to become a key player in international markets.

 

 

The Directorate highlighted that the rare minerals abundant in Sudan’s lands could constitute a strategic asset, especially amid rising global demand for energy transition technologies and reliance on advanced batteries in transportation and industry.
