Sudan moves to sever ties with Kenya

The Sudanese government has recalled its ambassador from Kenya, in protest against Nairobi hosting a meeting to discuss forming a parallel government. This move was described as a prelude to severing ties between the two countries.
A statement from the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said that Kamal Jubara, Sudan’s ambassador to Kenya, was summoned “for consultations in response to Kenya hosting meetings that included the Rapid Support Forces militia and its allies, in a hostile move against Sudan.”
The ministry called on Nairobi to abandon what it called a “dangerous path” that threatens regional peace and security and promotes terrorism and genocide.
The Sudanese government had previously accused the Kenyan presidency of “embracing and encouraging a conspiracy” to form a government led by the Rapid Support Forces.
