Sudan: March Inflation Rate Rises at 31% from February

 

Sudan’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported a 31% increase in March compared to February.

 

This is the first time the inflation rate has risen in recent months, having seen a consecutive decline from August 2024, when it reached 218.18%, to 142.34% in February.

 

The Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement that the rate of change in the general price level (inflation) rose in March 2025 to 173.30% compared to the previous year. It reported that the urban inflation rate in March reached 165.13%, a significant increase from February’s 123.32%. The rate in rural areas for the previous month reached 181.68%, compared to 155.84% in the previous month.
