Sudan Launches “Capital Metro” Project

Minister of Transport Saif-En-Nassr Al-Tijani Haroun announced the launch of a major project named “Capital Metro”, marking a cornerstone in a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate and develop the country’s transport sectors.

The project is part of a government vision aimed at modernizing the urban transport system and reducing congestion on Khartoum’s streets, while opening opportunities for both international and local investment in this vital sector.

The minister emphasized that the next phase will rely primarily on international partnerships and the private sector, considering them essential pillars to meet the demands of reconstruction and rebuilding infrastructure damaged by the war. He added that the government is working to create an investment-friendly environment for major transport projects, which will enhance economic growth and support stability.
