Sudan clings to agreement with Moscow to establish a Russian Naval Base

Sudan’s ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Siraj, said that Khartoum adheres to the agreement with Moscow to establish a Russian Naval Base on the Red Sea coast in Sudan, stressing that the agreement is still under discussion between the two sides.

 

The ambassador told the Russian Novosti Agency, “Relations between Sudan and Russia are now at their highest levels, and both sides are keen to strengthen and develop them in various fields. In this context, we are deliberating on the agreement to build a Russian Naval Base in Sudan,” according to the Russia Today website.
