Strong condemnation of Al-Dagalo from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Egypt

 

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Kuwait condemned on Sunday the attacks on camps for displaced persons around El-Fashir by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

 

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s rejection of these violations, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several people, in a “violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”

 

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed the need to provide protection for relief and humanitarian workers, the importance of halting attacks, avoiding targeting civilians, and implementing the Jeddah Declaration, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

 

For its part, the Qatari Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Sunday, emphasized the urgent need to protect civilians and humanitarian workers in El-Fashir and its surroundings, and to ensure the sustainable delivery of aid to address the humanitarian situation in the region.

 

 

The Qatari Foreign Ministry reiterated Qatar’s full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan.

 

 

In the same vein, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks targeting the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) by the militia, which resulted in dozens of casualties, both dead and wounded, in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. The statement reiterated Kuwait’s categorical rejection of such violations.

 

The statement stressed the importance of adhering to international resolutions, particularly Resolution 2736, which aims to halt attacks on displaced civilians in El-Fashir, as well as implementing the Jeddah Declaration.

 

 

Egypt, for its part, expressed its strong condemnation of the attacks targeting the Zamzam camp for internally displaced persons.

 

 

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt affirmed that “these acts represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and stresses the need to confront any form of violence targeting civilians or humanitarian personnel.”

 

 

Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with the Sudanese people and the families of the victims, reiterating its commitment to supporting Sudan’s stability and territorial integrity. It emphasized the importance of international cooperation to hold accountable those responsible for such attacks and to protect civilians in conflict zones.
