Stray bullets fired by RSF militia elements claim civilian lives in Nyala

 

Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that stray bullets have claimed the lives of several civilians over the past 72 hours in the city of Nyala, South Darfur State.

 

 

Eyewitnesses reported that random gunfire during celebrations threatens the lives of civilians and has resulted in the deaths of more than five people, including the child Ibrahim Badawi.

 

 

Citizen Ahmed Osman told Darfur 24 that his brother, Mohamed, was killed the night before yesterday by a stray bullet that hit him in the head, killing him instantly. It is unknown who fired the bullet. He added that his brother was on his way to the mosque for the sunset prayer.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, a medical source revealed to Darfur 24 that 12 deaths and injuries due to stray bullets were recorded after they were transferred to the Teaching Hospital and the South Unity Hospital between Friday and Monday.

 

 

The source suggested that the actual number is higher, as some victims are not transferred to hospitals.
