Seven Killed, Dozens Injured in New SPLM-N Artillery Attack on Al-Dalang
The city of Al-Dalang, South Kordofan’s second-largest city, came under intense artillery fire on Wednesday, the heaviest in recent months, carried out by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N), led by Abdelaziz El-Hilu. The attack killed at least seven people and injured dozens, sparking widespread panic among residents.
Al-Dalang has been under siege since the early months of the war. Rapid Support Forces (RSF) maintain a blockade from the north and east, preventing humanitarian aid and commercial convoys from entering the city. Meanwhile, the SPLM-N enforces a blockade from the west and south, prohibiting the passage of essential goods such as sorghum and flour, which are considered strategic commodities and not allowed to circulate outside areas under its control.
