Seven civilians, including five children, killed in Al-Dagalo artillery shelling of El-Obeid

At least seven civilians, including five children, were killed, on Friday, in artillery shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on the northern parts of El-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state.
Over the past few weeks, El-Obeid has been subjected to aerial and artillery bombardment by the militia, targeting civilian facilities, including the city’s stadium, the industrial zone, and Al-Daman (Solidarity) Hospital.
The shelling also targeted military sites, including the Fifth Infantry Division headquarters and the military hospital.
Local sources told Sudan Tribune that “seven civilians, including five children from one family, were killed as a result of artillery shells fired by the militia toward the northern parts of El-Obeid.”
They reported that the sites damaged by the shelling included the Arafat and Al-Saliheen neighborhoods, as well as the vegetable market and the industrial zone.
Sources reported that the army’s guided artillery targeted militia cannons south of Bara, in addition to attacks by army drones over the past 48 hours targeting militia combat vehicles in several areas, including Al-Tagour and Om Galji, near Bara
