Scotland Yard Receives Evidence File Regarding Al-Dagalo Militia Abuses

The British newspaper, The Guardian, has revealed that Scotland Yard has received an evidence file documenting alleged war crimes committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.
The newspaper said that the police are reviewing the 142-page file before referring it to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to assist in the investigation of the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) violations.
According to lawyers who submitted the file and were quoted by The Guardian, the documents provide evidence of the Rapid Support Forces’ leadership’s responsibility for repeated war crimes.
The documents also indicate that RSF commanders were aware of the atrocities committed by their forces. The lawyers cited the principle of “command responsibility,” which emphasizes that commanders knew or should have known about the abuses committed by their subordinates.
The US State Department announced earlier this year that the Rapid Support Forces were committing genocide in Sudan, and the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on its commander, Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).
