SAF penetrates Bahri and destroys militia strongholds in El-Fashir

Sudan witnessed on Wednesday violent clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, mainly in the cities of the capital Khartoum and the Darfur Region, amidst the intensive use of drones by both sides.

The city of Bahri, north of Khartoum, witnessed violent clashes between the army and the militia since dawn today, and the army launched an intensive and continuous attack on the RSF militia in the Shambat suburb in central Bahri.

A military field source told Al-Jazeera that SAF was able to penetrate areas in Bahri, such as the suburbs of Shambat and Al-Ezba.

The source pointed out that the militia retreated to the suburbs of Hilat Hamad and Al-Shaabiya.

The army seeks to fully penetrate the city of Bahri, adjacent to its General Command in Khartoum, which has been besieged by the RSF militia since the outbreak of the war.

Meanwhile, sources revealed the destruction of 9 combat vehicles and their crews near Al-Rahma Mosque (Shambat) south of the Hijaz Towers.

In the same context, the SAF and joint forces continued to destroy the militia’s strongholds in southern El-Fashir, amidst a major retreat and large-scale escape operations among the militia.
