RSF transfers huge quantities of counterfeit currency from UAE to South Darfur
The Wali (governor) of South Darfur State, Bashir Mursal Hasaballah, revealed that the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia smuggled quantities of gold from 12 mines in Singo area in Al-Radom Locality outside the country to finance the war on the Sudanese people.
He said, in an interview with the Sudan News Agency to be published later, that there were operations to transfer counterfeit currency from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to South Darfur that accompanied the smuggling operations, pointing out to arrangements made by the state government for the benefit of money owners related to the process of replacing their banknotes to preserve their rights, considering the gold smuggling operations as an organized plundering of Sudan’s resources, stressing his government’s keenness to make investments available to all for the benefit of the Sudanese people.
