RSF Offers $600 Incentive to Each “Mercenary” for Fighting in Babanusa

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has reportedly offered a financial incentive of 600 US dollars to each mercenary participating in its military operations in the city of Babanusa, West Kordofan State, according to local sources in East Darfur.

Witnesses from the city of Al-Daein told Darfur24 that the RSF militia deployed large military reinforcements from East Darfur to Babanusa after disbursing the cash payments. Several money exchange agents confirmed that hundreds of RSF members gathered at remittance points to exchange US dollars for Sudanese pounds.

Eyewitnesses also reported that the RSF transported heavy weapons on large trucks under tight security on their way to Babanusa. They added that several wounded RSF fighters were evacuated from Babanusa to the town of Adila by ambulance.

Heavy clashes broke out on Tuesday in Babanusa following an RSF attack on the headquarters of the Sudanese army’s 22nd Division, which had been under siege for nearly two years.
