RSF militia Kills (3) Nubian Men in South Kordofan

Three members of the Nuba tribe (Kawalib) were killed on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the Nuguli area of South Kordofan State, following an attack by a group of rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia elements belonging to the Hawazma tribe.

The incident occurred as the victims were returning from the Kurtala market on two motorcycles after selling agricultural crops.

The attacking group set up an ambush using six motorcycles, killing the three victims at the scene and stealing their belongings.

The incident sparked widespread anger among the Kawalib tribe, amid mounting accusations that the leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), headed by rebel Abdel-Aziz Al-Hilu, was responsible for facilitating the entry of militia members into the Nuba Mountains with the aim of displacing the indigenous population.

Some activists accused Kawalib leaders within the SPLA of turning a blind eye to these violations in exchange for material gains.

Observers noted that any area where the RSF militia is present witnesses a significant security deterioration, with the militia engaging in criminal acts including murder, looting, and theft.

In a rapid development, the SPLM-N’s First Front leadership dispatched a force from the Third Brigade – Eastern Province to control the situation and contain the growing tension in the area.
