RSF militia in Race to Announce Parallel Government

Two sources in the Sudan Foundation Alliance (Tasis), affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, said on Tuesday that the alliance approved its bylaws during meetings that have been ongoing for a week, moving closer to naming the leaderships of the parallel government.

A source in the Tasis coalition told Sudan Tribune that the alliance “is close to naming the president, his deputy, and the prime minister.”

The source attributed the delay in announcing the president and his deputy to the Revolutionary Front’s objection to its share in the government to be announced, as discussions are still ongoing.

The parties’ shares were recently amended, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) receiving 43% of the power-sharing share instead of 30%, while al-Hilu’s movement received 32%, and the remaining 25% went to the remaining allies, including the Revolutionary Front, headed by Al-Hadi Idris.

A source reported that the militia obtained the positions of Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Prime Minister, while al-Hilu’s movement obtained the position of Deputy Chairman of the Council.
