RSF Militia Detains and Deports Thousands of Civilians in West Kordofan to Secret Detention Centres
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia continues to carry out mass enforced disappearances in West Kordofan state, targeting young people and travellers through brutal operations.
According to Dar Hamar Emergency Room, RSF forces detained thousands of youths and passersby on Tuesday morning along the Wad Banda–Eyal Bakhit road. They were then forcibly and “humiliatingly” deported to the city of Al-Nuhud, joining other citizens previously detained under mysterious circumstances and with unknown fates.
This follows the abduction of another 5,000 youths five days earlier, whose whereabouts remain unknown, raising fears of extrajudicial killings or transfer to secret detention centres.
Dar Hamar Emergency Chamber expressed grave concern over the ongoing violations, describing them as “silent execution and mass abduction,” and questioned the fate of the large numbers of detainees being taken to undisclosed locations.
The body held the local militia leadership fully responsible for the safety of the abductees, demanding the immediate disclosure of the missing persons’ whereabouts and the release of those deported to Al-Nuhud. It also urged human rights organizations to urgently investigate graves and secret detention sites.
