RSF Drones Plunge El-Obeid into Darkness

Unmanned aerial vehicles launched by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeted El-Obeid electricity substation in North Kordofan State early Tuesday, causing a complete power outage after significant damage was inflicted on key transformers.

A North Kordofan state government official told Ultra Sudan that RSF drones struck El-Obeid transformer station, located south of the city, at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

He stated that the attack resulted in damage to electricity transformers, leading to a total disruption of power supply across the area.

“There were no human casualties,” the official added, noting that authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage sustained by the electricity infrastructure.

He further revealed that the RSF attempted to target the station again at around 11:00 a.m. the same day, similar to previous attacks on the University of Kordofan, which has reportedly been struck more than three times.

The official accused the RSF militia of persistently targeting civilian objects, service facilities, and food convoys, in disregard of international humanitarian law.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses told Ultra Sudan that they heard loud explosions and saw thick plumes of smoke rising from El-Obeid substation south of the city on Tuesday morning.
