RSF Drone Targets Civilians in El-Obeid

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Monday targeted populated areas in the city of El-Obeid, in North Kordofan, using a drone, according to a military source who spoke to Al-Jazeera.

The attack came amid continued displacement of hundreds of residents from the city of El-Fashir in North Darfur State.

Earlier, military sources told Al-Jazeera that the militia had bombarded residential neighborhoods in central El-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur, with heavy artillery.

For its part, the Sixth Infantry Division, affiliated with the Sudanese army, stated that the attack was preceded by intense artillery shelling from the militia, which also targeted the army headquarters.

The 6th division added that the army and its supporting forces repelled the attack launched by the militia on El-Fashir from three directions, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment.
