Prime Minister Announces Security, Political, and Economic Agreements with Eritrea
Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris announced on Friday that he had concluded agreements with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki to activate the joint political committee between the two countries and establish a new economic committee tasked with following up and implementing all bilateral projects, in addition to enhancing security coordination and intelligence cooperation.
Kamil Idris concluded a two-day official visit to Asmara — his fourth foreign trip since his appointment as Prime Minister on May 19 — following visits to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and New York, where he attended the UN General Assembly.
In press statements in Port Sudan upon his return from the Eritrean capital, Idris described his visit as “historic” and fruitful on all fronts. He explained that he met with President Isaias Afwerki and members of his government, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
