Officially… Bank of Sudan announces onset of the first stage of currency replacement

The Central Bank of Sudan announced the start of the first phase of the currency replacement, which commences with opening bank accounts for individuals who do not have accounts.

The bank explained that the currency replacement will be different from the previous experiences, stating that replacing money requires the citizen to have a bank account, and those who do not have the bank account must go to any of the banks operating in Sudan to open a bank account, and then deposit their cash in the account.

The Bank of Sudan pointed out that opening a bank account will enable customers to benefit from banking services such as withdrawal and deposit, besides the advantages of electronic banking services provided by bank applications such as making all payments that the customer needs to pay bills, fees and other services.

For its parth, the Central Bank of Sudan directed all the banks operating in the country to facilitate the procedures necessary for opening accounts, and then the replacement process. At the same time it called on the public to cooperate with banks by responding to the requirements for opening an account.
