New directives to banks to limit incoming of suspicious money
The Central Bank of Sudan (CBoS) instructed banks to continue working in currency replacement operations on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm.
The Head of the CBoS Operations and Follow-up Chamber for Currency Replacement, Abdul-Rahman Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, explained to SUNA that the 100 and 200 pound denominations are still valid and clear of liability, and that they directed banks to inform customers of this matter.
Abdul-Rahman said that the banks included in the tour today work in the field of companies, stating that the companies’ deposits, networking, and cases of suspicion and counterfeiting were examined. He pointed out that the focus was on the necessity of the presence of the compliance officer during the process of receiving money from companies to verify collection and suspicious operations in order to limit suspicious and counterfeit money.
