Mysterious Rat Deaths Alarm Al-Gezira, Wali Orders Investigation

The Wali of Al-Gezira State Al-Tahir Ibrahim has formed a high-level committee to investigate the unexplained deaths of large numbers of rats reported across the state.

Authorities said the probe will assess possible effects on public health, the environment, and the farming season.

Residents expressed concern, amid speculation of disease outbreaks or sudden ecological shifts.

The committee has been authorized to seek local and international expertise to deliver urgent recommendation.
