Musa Hilal Survives Assassination Attempt Planned by Hemeidti

The head of the Revolutionary Awakening Council and leader of the Mahamid tribe, Musa Hilal, has survived a “serious” assassination attempt while he was in the Umm Sonut area of the town of Mustariha in North Darfur State.

Sources suggested that the assassination attempt was carried out under the direct orders of militia commanders Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemeidti) and Abdel-Rahim Dagalo.

An unknown gunman opened fire directly on Musa Hilal in an assassination attempt, according to Sudan Pulse sources.

Hilal’s personal guards responded to the gunman, wounding and arresting the attacker before he could later escape.

The sources confirmed that the incident that occurred last Monday was not the first time Hilal to undergo liquidation attempt. On September 25, 2024, a video clip was circulated documenting the moment of a failed assassination attempt against him while he was addressing a rally of his tribesmen.

In his speech at the time, he issued stern warnings to the people of Al-Mahariyah, accusing them of being behind these attempts and warning of a harsh response if they were repeated.
