Minawi: UAE Conditions Fall of El-Fashir for Recognition of Janjaweed Government
The Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minawi has revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the main backer of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has set the fall of El-Fashir as a prerequisite for obtaining partial recognition from some countries of the Janjaweed government headed by Hemeidti.
Minawi explained, in a tweet, that this condition is driving the militia’s second-in-command, Abdel-Rahim Dagalo, to frantic field movements inside El-Fashir where he moves east and west, plunging his forces into bloody battles without regard for the heavy human losses his forces are Inflicting.
The city has witnessed the fiercest military attack since the beginning of the conflict. The Sudanese Army’s 6th Infantry Division announced that it had repelled a large-scale attack from three directions, resulting in heavy losses among the militia, including the killing of several prominent commanders and the devastation of combat vehicles.
