Minawi Accuses UAE-Backed RSF Militia of Trafficking Organs of Al-Fashir Detainees

Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minnawi accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which he described as a United Arab Emirates (UAE)–backed militia, of trafficking the organs of abducted residents held inside the city of Al-Fashir.

The United Nations previously reported that around 150 civilians from Al-Fashir remain missing, with their fate unknown since the UAE-backed militia occupied the city.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Minnawi asserted that RSF elements forcibly removed organs from detainees in Al-Fashir and drew their blood under coercion to treat wounded RSF fighters.

He wrote: “We later learned that those detained in Al-Fashir — women, men, and several families — had their organs removed and their blood taken to save injured RSF soldiers.”

Minnawi expressed his strong condemnation, denouncing what he described as heinous crimes committed by the militia.
