Militias Dispose of Civilian Bodies in Khartoum by Throwing them in Wells

Authorities in Khartoum State discovered a well in Al-Faihaa neighborhood in East Nile Locality, which the militia had used to dispose of the bodies of civilians after they had been tortured and killed in front of their families or after they died under torture in detention centers.

The Wali (governor) of Khartoum State Ahmed Osman Hamza oversaw the retrieval of bodies from the well.
Civil Defense authorities confirmed that the well contained a large number of bodies of all ages, and that retrieval operations were underway.

The well is one of hundreds of wells used by the militia to dispose of their victims, killing them in front of the residents of the neighborhood.

The Civil Defense Directorate, through its various teams, is working to uncover such heinous practices and violations committed by the rebel militia after East Nile Locality was cleared of rebellion and the security presence expanded.

Many families have provided testimony about the violations they witnessed and the ongoing blackmail and ransom demands they face in exchange for the release of their detained relatives.
