Militia storms Zamzam camp… Minawi’s SLAM vows to “punish”

The governor of Darfur, Minni Arko Minawi, has issued an urgent appeal to save Zamzam camp for the displaced persons (IDPs). He said, on his Facebook page, that Zamzam camp is being stormed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Minawi explained that the attack launched by the RSF militia now is the tenth attack on the camp, which is crowded with old and new IDPs.
Minawi condemned the attack in the strongest terms and appealed to the United Nations and the African Union to instruct the countries supporting the militia to discontinue these violations.
For his part, the leader in the Sudan Liberation Army Movement (SLAM), Agad bin Kony, described what the militia is doing as a cowardly approach, revealing that the militia burned down the market of Zamzam IDP camp.
He told (Sudanese Echoes) that the most cowardly creature is the one who attacks the IDP camps and commits killing, looting and burning the property of innocent civilians for ethnic reasons, stressing that this act will not go unpunished.
