Militia operates prosthetics center in Neyala to handle large numbers of injured
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has imposed exorbitant fees on prosthetics for people with disabilities and war victims in South Darfur after the reopening and operation of the National Prosthetics Center in Neyala.
A worker at the center told (Darfur 24) that the militia has reopened the center and is using it to manufacture prosthetics for its soldiers injured in battles for free, while it imposes fees exceeding 400,000 pounds for disabled civilians. He pointed out that before the war, the center provided services to 1,500 disabled people for free through direct support from the International Red Cross Society, which supported the factory with raw materials.
He stated that hundreds of people with disabilities have stopped renewing their prosthetics or requesting new ones due to the fees imposed.
