Militia Exterminated in Umm Sumaima Ambush… Army Approaches Al-Khuwai

 

The Sudanese Armed Forces and their supporting forces trapped Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in a well-planned ambush in the Umm Sumaima area, west of the city of Al-Obeid in North Kordofan.

 

 

 

The armed forces inflicted a crushing defeat on the militia, whose elements fled the battlefield in a humiliating manner during the fighting that took place on Sunday.

 

 

 

At the same time, the army continued its advance and approached the city of Al-Khuwai, seizing control of Al-Dawdiya after Umm Sumaima.

 

 

In a military statement received by (Sudanese Echoes), Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa (Adroub) said that the army had managed to completely clear the Umm Sumaima area of RSF militia elements. He unveiled that they had achieved a great victory in the battle.

 

 

 

He revealed details of the battle and stated that the militia, with regional support and under the direct supervision of its second-in-command, had mobilized a large force weeks ago to capture Al-Obeid. He explained that the forces confronted the brutal force with all their might and vigilance. He said that immediately upon receiving news of the attack, the joint force moved forward and engaged the militia in a fierce battle that ended after hours of intense fighting. The militia was completely routed and the area and its surroundings were seized. He asserted that the army forced the militia to flee in disgrace, leaving behind the bodies of their dead and large quantities of military equipment. He explained that the pursuit of the militia did not stop until the outskirts of the city of Al-Khuwsi.

 

 

Adroub revealed that approximately 232 militia members were killed, including first-class officers. He also revealed that 22 fully equipped combat vehicles were seized, and more than 18 others were destroyed.

 

 

He stated that the listing is still underway on the battlefield to determine the full extent of the enemy’s losses. He emphasized that they are steadily moving toward final victory and complete liberation.
