Witnesses and local sources in Kutum, North Darfur, reported that four people were killed and more than ten others wounded in a drone strike that targeted a commercial convoy on Thursday along the road linking Tina, on the border with Chad, and the town of Frouk, northwest of Kutum.
Community leader Haroun Khatir told Darfur24 that a militia-operated drone carried out a heavy aerial attack on four commercial vehicles transporting traders and passengers traveling from Tina to Frouk, near Kutum.
He said the victims included Sufian Ibrahim, a driver from Sendo village; Fatima Adam, a child from Arida village; Ali Ishaq from Mulaqat town; and another individual whose identity has not yet been confirmed.
According to Khatir, more than ten people sustained injuries, some of them critical. The wounded were transferred to Kutum Rural Hospital for treatment.
Separately, a witness from Frouk said the four vehicles were completely or partially burned, with goods and personal belongings destroyed. He added that damage assessments were conducted, the injured evacuated, and the deceased buried.
