Militant Group Executes Three IDPs, Including Elderly Woman, Inside Shelter in El-Fashir
A spokesperson for the displaced persons (IDPs) in El-Fashir said that the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia carried out a physical liquidation operation on Monday against several displaced individuals inside a shelter center north of the city.
According to the Sudan Doctors’ Network, the militia had launched a large-scale attack on El-Fashir early Monday morning, preceded by artillery shelling that killed 13 civilians.
Mohamed Khamis Doudah, spokesperson for Zamzam Camp, told Sudan Tribune that elements of the militia infiltrated the Abu Talib School shelter in the Abu Shouk district and opened fire on the IDPs inside their homes, killing three of them — including an elderly woman around eighty years old and a person with a physical disability.
Doudah added that the assault came a week after the shelter had been subjected to intense bombardment with more than ten shells, followed by a nighttime drone attack, which resulted in the deaths of more than 15 people and injuries to dozens of others.
He noted that the attacking troops forced all families residing in the shelter — about 100 families, including 37 orphaned and homeless children — to evacuate the site under coercion and flee to unknown destinations without access to food or shelter, amid dire humanitarian conditions.
