Manawi’s Aide: Quartet Statement “Disgraceful” — Calls Trump, bin Zayid, and Netanyahu “Thugs”
Mohamed Bashir Abu Namu, Assistant to the Chairman of the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Minni Arko Minawi and former Minister of Minerals, rejected in full the Quartet statement on Sudan, describing it as “disgraceful.”
In a Facebook post, Abu Namu attributed the statement’s issuance to the sweeping military advances against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and as a preemptive move ahead of a U.S. Congress initiative to classify the RSF as a terrorist organization. He said the Quartet convened only to issue a statement aimed at rescuing the RSF.
In this context, Abu Namu likened former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Emirati leader Mohammed bin Zayid, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “thugs,” stressing that they pose a threat to international security.
At the same time, Abu Namu urged Sudan’s leadership to firmly adhere to the will of the people, which is to categorically reject the Quartet’s options, calling for their dismissal. He warned against compliance, cautioning: “In the event of submission to the Quartet’s decisions, that will mark the point of separation between the people and the leadership.”
