Major Russian Companies express Readiness to Invest in Sudan’s Ports, Railways, and Aviation

 

Russia announced that major Russian companies are ready to invest in ports, railways, and aviation in Sudan, expressing interest in a long-term strategic partnership.

 

 

Sudan’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani, discussed with Russian Ambassador to Sudan Andrey Chernovol opportunities to enhance joint cooperation in transport, ports, and logistics.

 

 

Al-Tijani revealed that the ministry is moving forward with launching projects under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) system, offering quick returns in the maritime and aviation sectors, amid the urgent need to upgrade infrastructure and support the nation’s transition toward development.

 

 

He affirmed Sudan’s full openness to serious foreign investments, noting the ministry’s interest in strategic partnerships with the Russian side, particularly in modern port projects, industrial and tourist cities, and transit services, which would strengthen Sudan’s position as a regional transport hub connecting north, south, east, and west.

 

 

For his part, the Russian ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to expand economic cooperation, confirming that major Russian companies are prepared to invest in ports, railways, and aviation, praising Sudan’s geographic location and the unique investment opportunities it offers.
